Senior eCommerce Web Developer

Primary responsibility: The primary responsibility of this position is to lead the systems development of our client's web site(s) with a high level of knowledge of leading edge technology. This key position works with partners within the organization to develop the optimum method of two-way communication across the Internet with our external customers and internal business partners.


Apply a high degree of technical knowledge of all web environments and applications currently used. Continue to develop and research knowledge of other applications used in industry and make suggestions for their appropriate use in the environment when applicable. Use past experiences to help guide the company when familiar issues arise. Study and gain understanding of competitor's sites and suggest ways to improve our client's site in order to meet competitive challenges.

Strive to be a change agent by identifying current site issues and suggest and implement appropriate solutions.

Provide advice and guidance to Web Developers in performing technical tasks including writing and analyzing code, designing, configuring and documenting applications and systems, and using object-oriented techniques to improve the efficiency of work.

Write, analyze and interpret source programs. 75% coding

Design large-scale database-driven applications that perform efficiently, are operationally stable including instrumentation, and meet business requirements in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

Regularly codes or modifies, tests, and debugs web pages, applications and jobs of high complexity. May have multiple open assignments.

Perform role of project manager on various large scale projects and assignments possibly involving cross-functional teams including e.g. Information Systems, Customer Service, CRM etc.

Completes project assignments in accordance with the schedule established by the project leadership.

Keeps management informed of project status through periodic status reporting.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or related field required.
3+ years of experience in Web Development and Systems Architecture including systems development and programming responsibilities.
2+ years experience designing large-scale web applications including database schemas.
Broadvision One-to-One Enterprise development and administration experience a plus.
Experience with Documentum a plus
Experience going through a platform redo would be a big plus (Broadvision to Documentum or Websphere etc.)
3+ years experience with XML.
2+ years of current experience developing RDBMS to Web applications utilizing server and client-side JavaScript, HTML, SQL and C/C++ or PL/SQL.
Current work experience in an Internet-related ,or high transaction ecommerce environment preferred.
Experience with a high volume on-line retailer preferred
Experience with Unix/ Linux / Red Hat
1+ years experience with JBOSS
3+ years experience with Java
Experience writing technical documents including functional, technical and program specifications and designs.
Experience with and understanding of large-scale Internet architectures on 3-Teir environments (e.g., communications, TCP/IP, firewalls, failover, load balancing, web servers, applications servers, and data base servers).
Experience leading projects involving cross-functional team members.
Effective written and communication skills.
Demonstrated organizational and analytical skills.
Ability to work within project deadlines.

Salary: 75K - 90K Base
