Storage Achitect

Direct Hire Opportunity

The Storage Architect's role is to lead the development and long term strategic roadmap for all storage initiatives within the company. The individual would work with the operations team, DBA's and netops team to plan, design, implement the organization's storage infrastructure using to industry best practices to ensure high data quality, reliability, redundancy and availability. This individual will recommend to management plans to develop, implement and procedures to ensure consistent storage provisioning, uptime, optimization and cost reduction. The Storage Architect is also responsible for capacity planning, backup and restore process design, performance analysis, and developing data disaster recovery plans.

Requirements:

In-depth understanding of storage architecture design techniques,theories, principles, and practices including ILM, Hierarchical Storage Management

Administration of a large site 100 servers, storage in excess of 1PB or more
Experience managing multiple files systems, volume managers and high availability software

Working knowledge of SAN, NAS, DAS, RAID, SCSI, FC, tape, clustered storage technologies

Experience architecting enterprise storage, archival/backup systems with a broad spectrum of storage technologies

In-depth understanding of storage architecture design techniques, theories, principles, and practices

ILM/project lifecycle analysis and experience.

4+ years of UNIX/Linux system administration and related web technologies
